Paris established itself as the obvious choice for Fresque’s first collection. Steeped in history yet resolutely vibrant, it fascinates as much for its heritage as for its cosmopolitan energy. Charming and captivating, Paris reveals itself anew with every stroll, through ever-wondering eyes or an enamored gaze, offering an infinite playground for creative minds. For both the artist and the founder, Paris represents a city of openness, freedom, and opportunity, where creativity naturally finds its place.
For its interpretation, the brand draws inspiration from Art Nouveau, an artistic movement that deeply shaped the Parisian landscape at the end of the 19th century. Recognizable by its organic shapes and its dialogue between architecture and nature, this movement carried a broader vision: to place nature back at the center of Art and Beauty, to return to craftsmanship, and to revalue manual labor.
Born in the south of France into a family passionate about art and cinema, Eleonore Oldwood is a freelance illustrator and art director, based in Paris for nearly 10 years. Trained in film set design and later in advertising art direction, she approaches illustration with the eye of an image designer.
Inspired by memory-laden objects, decorative arts, ancient architecture, as well as the artistic environment of folklore, her illustrations are conceived as narrative spaces where every detail contributes to bringing a story to life. Her visual language, expressed largely through watercolor, blends the use of ornament and organic lines with fine linework, soft hues, and rich compositions, conveying an aesthetic imbued with lightness, movement, and poetry.
Through her creations, Eleonore Oldwood invites us to go beyond the observation of everyday life to reconstruct an imaginary one.
"I prefer artists' studios to gigantic museums, because I can feel invited into their homes.
I need to hear stories and that is what I infuse into my own creations.
To me, creating is a way to leave a mark and not fade away."
